AI Writing Isn’t the Problem. Copy-Pasting Is.

I use AI to help me write and structure my blog posts.

But there’s usually one thing I don’t usually do.

Copy and paste the entire thing straight onto my website.

Instead, I’ll ask AI to create the structure, develop the ideas, and write a draft.

Then I type the post out manually.

✍️ Why Do I Type It?

For me, typing it makes me feel more involved in the content.

I’m reading the words as I type them, thinking about whether I agree with them, changing things when they don’t sound like me and adding my own thoughts along the way.

It feels more productive than simply slapping an AI-generated block of text onto website and calling it done.

I’m not just publishing the output.

I’m processing it.

🤖 AI-Assisted Doesn’t Mean AI-Only

I don’t see AI as the problem.

The problem, in my opinion, is when we stop thinking because the AI has already done the thinking for us.

AI can help me:

  • Structure a blog post.
  • Brainstorm ideas.
  • Get past the blank page.
  • Explore different angles.
  • Create a starting draft.

But I still decide what actually makes it onto my site.

🧠 The Human Part Still Matters

When I’m typing out a post, I’m simply not transferring words from one place to another.

I’m editing.

I’m questioning.

I’m adding my own perspective.

Sometimes I’ll completely change a sentence because it doesn’t sound like something I’d say.

And that’s the part I don’t want to lose.

AI gives me a starting point.

My human input gives the content its direction.

My Takeaway

I’m not against AI-generated writing.

I’m against the idea that generating content should automatically mean publishing it.

There is a difference between using AI to help you create and using AI to replace your involvement entirely.

For me, the workflow is simple:

AI helps me start → I think → I type → I edit → I publish.

Because if I’m going to put my name behind the content , I actually want to be involved in creating it.

My human input:

AI can help me build the draft, but I still want my hands, thoughts and judgement in the final place.
