Hello again, humans! It’s Simmba, your favourite office cat, reporting for another day of marketing observations. 🐈⬛
Today, we’re moving further into the POWER Flow framework, originally developed by Alina from Build With Alina. A special credit to Alina for creating a framework that helps businesses approach their content and marketing with greater intention.
Last time, we explored PULL and how storytelling can attract the right audience. Now, we’re moving on to the second stage:
O is for ORIENT: Give Your Audience Direction
Imagine someone discovers your business through Instagram. They enjoy your content, find your brand interesting and decide to visit your website.
But when they arrive, they can’t figure out what you offer, where to find your services or what they should do next.
That’s a missed opportunity.
This is where ORIENT comes in.
The purpose of this stage is to help your audience understand your brand, navigate your digital platforms and find the information they’re looking for without unnecessary confusion.
Your website shouldn’t feel like a maze. Even I can find my favourite sleeping spot without getting lost!
What Does ORIENT Look Like in Website Strategy and UX?
At Signal & Strategies, our Website Strategy & UX department focuses on making digital experiences clear, accessible and easy to navigate.
Here are some important areas to consider:
1. Website Navigation
Your navigation menu should make sense. Visitors should be able to find important pages such as your About, Services, Contact and Blog sections without having to search endlessly.
Keep things organised and avoid overwhelming people with unnecessary menu options.
2. Clear Brand Messaging
Your homepage should communicate who you are, what you do and who you help.
Visitors shouldn’t have to read five different paragraphs before understanding what your business offers.
A clear headline, supporting description and relevant call to action can make a significant difference.
3. Website Structure and Layout
A well-organised website creates a smoother browsing experience.
Think about your headings, page sections, spacing, images and how information is presented.
Every element should have a purpose rather than simply filling up empty space.
4. Calls to Action (CTAs)
What would you like visitors to do?
Perhaps you want them to explore your services, read your latest article, subscribe to your newsletter or get in touch.
Make those next steps visible and easy to understand.
5. Mobile-Friendly Experiences
Not everyone visits your website using a desktop computer.
Your website should work smoothly across mobile phones, tablets and desktops.
Pay attention to readability, image sizing, buttons and navigation. A website that looks beautiful on a computer but becomes difficult to use on a phone is missing an important part of the user experience.
How We Apply ORIENT at Signal & Strategies
We believe website design should go beyond aesthetics.
A beautiful website might attract attention, but a well-structured website helps visitors understand the brand and take meaningful action.
When approaching website strategy and UX, we consider:
- Clarity: Can visitors immediately understand what the business offers?
- Navigation: Can they find the information they need?
- Consistency: Does the website reflect the brand’s identity?
- Accessibility: Can different visitors comfortably use the website?
- User experience: Does the journey feel natural rather than complicated?
These considerations help create a digital environment where visitors feel informed rather than overwhelmed.
A Little Reminder From Your Favourite Office Cat 🐾
Humans, here’s something to remember:
Getting someone to visit your website is only half the journey. What happens after they arrive matters just as much.
Don’t make your visitors work hard to understand your business.
Give them clear directions, organise your information and make their experience worthwhile.
Because even a curious cat needs to know where the next door leads!
Until next time,
Simmba 🐈⬛
